We are currently looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to work an overnight shift (Sun-Th). This is a contract to hire opportunity with one of the region's leading healthcare providers. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB As part of the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) IT team, you will function as a member of the tier III team responsible for administering and supporting various ILM applications (mostly IBM) utilized by the program. This technical role requires the candidate to administer and manage the application infrastructure, support project initiatives, and assist in developing operational readiness. Where appropriate, the candidate will be asked to provide technical documentation, mentor peers, interact with customers, and serve in a support function. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. As part of a team of administrators, provide tier 3 support for the ILM infrastructure, assist with application upgrades and other technical tasks to support related projects Diagnose hardware and software related problems as needed Participate in meetings with customers to identify and confirm future requirements and provides recommendations as needed Assist in developing and maintaining processes, procedures, and monitoring to facilitate proactive responses to incidents and requests Monitor performance of ILM environment and take proactive measures to prevent service disruption Participate in disaster recovery exercises as required Integrally work and interact with network, storage, server infrastructure, and other enterprise service support teams to deploy and ensure optimal operation of ILM environment Qualifications 5+ years of System Administration experience in large Microsoft Windows Server environments Experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and monitoring servers and associated applications Expert level knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Windows xxxx, Windows Failover Clustering, Microsoft Exchange xxxx Demonstrated troubleshooting skills related to enterprise applications and client/server communications Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of the company Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in responding to phone calls and emails Demonstrated ability to work in a team, facilitate effective team interactions, and to foster a positive work environment; willingness to assist teammates in order to achieve departmental goals Strong analytical skills with the ability to seek underlying assumptions through probing, questioning, and listening Demonstrated strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames; self-starter with high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow through Excellent process documentation skills Solid understanding and experience with Change Management practices Desired Familiarity with IBM Content Collector or other enterprise archiving solutions Expert level knowledge of Outlook (COM add-in troubleshooting and logging) Familiarity with Legal File Plans, Records, and Retention schedules Familiarity with Service Now or similar tools Exposure to Active Directory Network configurations and protocols (DNS / SMTP / LDAP) Security (Encryption / Certificates / IPSec / TLS / Policies) Disaster Recovery planning EEO Employer Apex Systems LLC is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
